Alpha's Past Chapter 6

(Layna’s POV)

Tonight’s my night to patrol the territory with Jace. So excited! I wonder if he likes me? I know it’s awkward because of Lee being my Best Friend EVER, and also his sister, but you can’t argue with fate. I wonder if Lee knows yet? She seems to know everything anyway. I hope he likes me. It would be so embarrassing if he didn’t think he was my mate.  What if I seem stupid? What if he only likes me as a little sister type bond? Do I seem nervous to you?
Tonight is my first night patrolling with Jace. Usually I patrol with Lee, but she and Chase, Jace’s partner, were planning for tomorrow. I wonder how we’re going to surprise him? My friends think I have ADHD, but I think I just have a fast brain. I have fifteen minutes before I have to meet Jace in the living room. What should I wear? Maybe my cute sundress? No. To fragile for the trails. I’m going to be in wolf form anyway. My wolf is a red color with brown on the tips of my fur. I like the color, but it’s nothing compared to to Jace’s mix mash of brown, black and white, it gives him a salt and pepper effect. I decided to go with a close fitting tank, and some dark blue skinny jeans. I added a little mascara, some lip gloss, and was ready to go.
Once I got downstairs I saw that he was waiting for me. He’s so hot. His tall  6’,3” stature fit perfectly with my 5’,8”.  Alea is surprisingly short at 5’,4” and it makes me feel bad when I have too look down at her, because she’s my alpha, but she doesn’t seem to mind. His chocolate eyes are warm and inviting and compliment his blonde hair well. And of course,  like all werewolves, incredibly well muscled. As I walk over to him he says,
“Hey! How are you?”
“Not to bad. You?” I ask.
“Yeah I’m good. What do you think of the new wolf?” He asks.
“Well, I think he should pack up and head out. I don’t know why Alea is being so nice about this.” I comment as we walk out the door. We continue to talk until we’re a little ways into the woods and we go separate ways to  change into our wolves. Once in wolf form it’s a lot harder to control my wolf’s need to be with my mate. I think I have about two hours with him considering the size of our territory, and the speed of our wolves. As we run we continue to talk about random things like school, and werewolf life. I was really having fun. We were talking about who we think the mystery wolf was when I smelled something funny.
I slowed down and sniffed the ground, causing Jace to stop too. Something large was killing many animals here. More than is needed for life. I continued following the scent until I found the source. A rouge wolf was standing there. Foaming at the mouth. Seeing me it charged, taking me off guard and snapped at my right flank. I yelped, and as soon as it left my snout, Jace came charging in and fought the wolf. The battle all of two minutes before Jace killed it. But to me it felt like two hours. Once he was killed he ran over  to me and changed back to human form. I had already changed during the fight.t When we change we keep all our cloths. I don’t know where they go, but I’m they stay. As he reaches me he asks worriedly.
“Are you okay?”
“Am I okay?! Of course I’m okay. What about you?” I ask, just as worried.
“I’m fine. No need to worry.” He says laughing slightly.
“Oh. Well that was really brave of you. And, uh, thanks.” I say shyly.
“It was no problem at all.” He says. I can see the lust in his eyes. I take this opportunity and kiss him lightly on the cheek. He grabs my chin with with his thumb and fore finger, and moved my lips to his. The kiss started slow, but got rougher and less controlled, as our wolves battled for control. We hungrily nipped and tasted each others lips as we got more and more intense.  I felt myself rise as Jace picked me up and carried me  deeper into the woods.

Alpha's Past Chapter 5

(Luca's POV)

Well. That only resulted in confusing me more.  I had set out to gain information of their pack at lunch by observing how they handled the situation, but I still have no clue who the alpha is, let alone the mystery girl. None of the girls at this school have different colored eyes. I know she’s here though, I can smell her everywhere, yet I can’t find the source. Almost as if she’s hidden in her own scent.
As I walked into the cafeteria It was immediately obvious which table they sat at. All the humans stayed as far away from them as possible. They radiated power, and, they sat in the very center of the room, able to watch over their turf.  I waited for the table to gather and was about to head over, but I noticed that all the heads in the room had turned towards the door, so I turned to see the most beautiful girl. She was the same girl that had growled at me earlier. Her platinum blonde hair glowed as it framed her heart shaped face beautifully. She was short, yet she demanded respect from all that surrounded her. Her blue skirt was short and her tank was tight, showing off her curves wonderfully, yet unlike the rest of the females at this school, It didn’t make her look like a slut. She was magnificent.
She walked over to the wolves table, and sat down as if she owned the place, at first I thought that she must be my mystery girl, but a good look at her eyes showed that they were both a dazzling sapphire blue. Once she sat down I headed over to see how they would handle me asking to sit with them. That should give me an idea of the packs ranking.  I felt an enormous amount of power coming from the middle and saw two people. The beautiful girl, and a boy a little older, probably about a year older. He must be the alpha, and she must be his mate, or maybe even his play toy. She snuggled up close to him and he smirked at me saying,
“What do you want?” I laugh in my head at his arrogance. He thinks I’m a lowly human, easily intimidated by a wolf with power. Needing to keep up the persona, I ask timidly,
“Umm, well I was wondering if you guys had room for one more?”  He looks at the girl as if waiting for something. They stare at each other for several seconds, different expressions flying across their faces. Suddenly the boy turns back to me and said bluntly,
“Hey kid. The answer is no. Now get lost.”
“Oh, okay.”I reply, going for ashamed, before rushing over to sit down by myself. As I leave I hear the boy say,
“Sis, what’s up with you today?”
“I don’t know, I feel a little sick, and I’m tired,” replies the beautiful girl. What?! I thought she was his mate! Not his sister! This pack is all mixed up. If he’s the alpha, then who the hell is she? And where’s my mystery girl?
The bell rings and everyone files out of the lunch room into the halls. I head over to my locker and find six girls.
“Hey ladies, how did six beautiful girls end up in front of my locker?” I ask flirtily. They giggle and bat their lashes, shoving their breast up into my face.
“You wanna go out to dinner tonight with me?” One girl asks me sliding her finger down my forearm.
“No! He wants to go out with me. Don’t you?” Asks another girl. Before I could reply to either, all six girls were arguing about who I wanted to go out with.  At first it was amusing, but now I was starting to get a headache.
“Okay, okay, okay. You know what, I’m busy tonight. Maybe some other time.” I say making a hasty get away. As I sigh in relief, I look up to see the angry glare of the beautiful girl, but she quickly turned away, and went around the corner.  What was that about? I still don’t know about their pack, and it’s really bothering me.  There is still two more periods left in the day. Then I will go back to the main house, and talk with my pack. Maybe together we can figure this out. Until then I just have to survive two more hours of hell, When the bell rang it meant that we were free for the day. Now if only I could discover the secrets of the Arainia, I might just have a mate.

-------------------------------

(Alea’s POV)

After school, my pack and I head over to Lacrosse practice. You may wonder why I say my pack, if most of the pack is older or younger than high school. Well, we call them part of the pack, (for their benefit) but actually only Jace 17, Layna 16, Jace’s friend Chase 17, Chase’s mate Rachel 17, then there’s the twins,  Aaron and  Ben 15, and lastly,, the baby of the pack, Sam 14. Our whole pack plays Lacrosse,. Rachel, Laynie, and I totally own our team, while the boys are undefeated. Again. We’re kinda competitive.
During practice we had a scrimmage with the boys and of course, we won! What we won, was the boys having to walk the five and a half miles, home. Haha, Suckers. They never learn do they? Once I got home, I went up to my room and started on my homework. I still had an essay left in Language Arts, when I heard the door slam and five angry boys come tromping through the house. Smiling to myself I head down the stairs and into the one place their sure to be. The Kitchen.
“Hey. How was your walk?” I ask innocently. That earns my plenty of glares and many grunts in reply.
“I guess that means you don’t want to hear what I have to say.” I say, sighing dramatically.
“Wait. I want to know!” Sam said, forgiving as always. The other boys nod their head in agreement.
“Well, Sam, I guess I could tell you. But not the others.” I taunt. Suddenly they’re all around me begging for forgiveness.
“Okay, okay. Calm down, I’ll tell you. Remember that boy who tried to sit with us at lunch?” I ask.
“Yeah. I was wondering why you were acting weirdly.” Jace says.
“He was a werewolf.” I say bluntly.
“What!? He smelled so human.” The pack exclaims.
“I know. He must have hidden his scent, but I could smell it under his cover.” I tell them.
“What should we do?” Asks Layna who has come down to see the problem, as well as Rachel.
“I think that we should show him how things work tomorrow. He still thinks that Jace is the alpha of this pack. It’s time to set him straight.” I told them.
“He thinks I’m the alpha?” Asks Jace incredulously. I laugh at his reaction.
“Did you not notice how he directed all of his questions to you? And by getting closer to you, my alpha power seemed to be coming from you.” I explained.
“Ohhhh. So, who is he?” Asks Ben.
“Here’s the real surprise, I think he was the wolf that I found in our territory.” I say. I hear my pack gasp in astonishment.
“So, do you thinks he’s a real threat?” Asks Chase, he always feels the need to protect the pack.
“For some reason, I don’t. But just to make sure, we’ll give him a good surprise tomorrow. “ I say smiling. Slowly, I saw all of the packs frowns turn into smiles of anticipation. Tomorrow’s gonna be fun!

Alpha's Past Chapter 4

(Jace’s POV)

I. Hate. School. It truly, honest to god, sucks. To put it nicely, school is a waste of my time. The only semi redeeming part is the girls, they see a guy that’s hot, like me, and are willing to murder their best friend. I mean I can’t complain about it, because there is nothing better than a sad girl in need of a shoulder on which to cry. Coz babe, I can be that shoulder, but it’s also amusing to watch how pathetic they are. For example, the other day I was walking down the hall, and some random cheerleader came up to me and started to flirt with me, suddenly, up came the girl that had just been laughing and talking with her, and she started to flirt with me also. Girl number 1, then stomps on Girl number 2’s foot with her high heel, and then promptly shoves her out of the way. I later learned that these girls use to be best friends. This is one reason why Alea calls them “The Slut Heard.”
As I think of this, I can’t help but let out a small laugh, this earns me a glare from our L.A. teacher, Mr. Landim.
“Mr. Ryans, you seem to think something is humorous, care to share with the class?” He asks, smiling, delightedly, in a way that reminds me of a fox that has cornered a rabbit. Everyone in the room turns to me with looks of pity and curiosity.
“Ummmm.” I reply not really wanting to voice my opinion on the female student body.
“Well, what is it Mr. Ryans?” He persists.
“Uh, just that... Uh well—” I start but am interrupted by the bell, signaling the start of lunch, and the brief intermission between the torture they call education at this hell hole of a school.
“Oh I have to go to lunch now Mr. Landim, I’ll have to tell you some other time.” I say, as I make my hasty retreat. Wow, that was a close one. As I make my way into the cafeteria, I head over to my normal table, with the rest of the pack. I wonder where Alea is. Hmmm, probably telling a teacher why they were wrong in whatever they were trying to force, i mean teach, to her. As I scan the cafeteria I can’t help but notice that Layna is looking extra hot today, wait no, I can’t think that. She is Alea’s best friend, and obviously she doesn’t share the feelings.
I see Alea walk in, and all the heads in the room turn towards her, before  they resume their earlier conversations. You see, Alea isn’t like most alpha’s, she has amazing powers that have never even been heard of before. She can control elements, read all other weres minds, talk to all weres in their minds, and that's only the beginning. Even more, her entire body radiates power, it’s really amazing.
She casually walks over to us and sits in her normal seat, the one in the very center of the room, and begins to eat others lunch. Suddenly she sits up straight and scoots her chair closer to mine and looked up at an approaching human. Which was weird, considering all the humans know enough to stay away form our table. I look up and say
“What do you want?” Already smirking knowing that Alea will chew him out, and then humiliate him. I imagine that it will go something like her showing dominance telling him to get lost, then as he walks away the water fountain will “malfunction” and spay all over him. I mean who does he think he is?
“Umm, well I was wondering if you guys had room for one more?” He replies timidly. Good, he should be afraid of us. I see him look over at Alea and— wait is he checking her out? He better not be, everyone knows she is off limits. I see all of us look over to her, waiting for some snide remark about his lack of brain cells, but instead she just looks at me and says in the pack link
‘Can you take care of this? I am really tired today.’ In almost a pouting voice.
‘Ahh, come on Lee, I was really looking forward to seeing your treatment of this guy. I was going to be the best part of my day.’ I say hopefully.
‘No Jace! That’s horrible. How could you be so inconsiderate.’ She scolds, even though her the tips of her lips are twitching up, telling me shes joking.
‘Okay, fine. I’ll get rid of him for you.’ I say sighing in defeat. It sometimes sucks to have a more powerful older sister, even though I love her.
‘Thanks Jacey!’ She says in a singsong voice, showing how happy she is to have gotten her way, again.
“Hey kid. The answer is no. Now get lost.” I said, making it as brief as possible.
“Oh, okay.” He says ashamedly, before quickly walking to sit elsewhere. Huh, I wonder why Alea really didn’t want to deal with him. Oh well, I’ll find out tonight.

Alpha's Past Chapter 3

(Alea’s POV)

Beep...Beeep...Beeeeeep...Beeeeeeeeep BEEEEP BEEEEEEEP BEEEEEEEP BEEEEEEEEEPBEEEEEEEEPBEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP. Uhg. This annoying, screechy sound, would be my alarm clock, persistently trying to tell me to get up and face yet another Monday school day. You might think that the alpha shouldn’t have to go to school, and I would agree, but apparently we do. I throw my hand out and slap my clock, effectively shutting it up. Now just for the getting up part. I slowly open one eye, only to be blinded by sunshine streaming through my window. Great, now I’m tired and blind, I think sourly. Excepting my defeat, I get out of bed and make my way into my bathroom, turn on the shower, extra hot, and step in. Even though I would rather be asleep, a good hot shower is always a nice way to start the day. After getting dressed in my normal, jeans and a tee-shirt, I head downstairs, eat my breakfast and drive, on my royal blue motorcycle, to school.
As I stepped off, I realized that the attention was off me for once. Weird, even though not all the students are weres, they still give me respect. Never wanting to be out of the loop, I head over to Jace, and some of his friends.
“What’s with the crowd over there?” I ask, nodding towards the school doors where a mob has convened.
He looks down to me, yes looks down, I’m only 5’4’’ in human form, and says, “I don’t know, I think there’s a new kid.”
“Oh.” Was all I said, because I had already moved on. This would only last a day at most, then everything would be back to normal, or so I thought.
As I make my way into first period, I run into someone, and am about to tell them off for being in my way, but stop, because suddenly, my heart stutters, and my whole body heats up. I look into the strangers eyes and see feel a pull towards him, and as if I recognize him from somewhere. He has coal black hair, that frames his bright blue eyes perfectly. His skin is tan, and he’s probably around 6”2’. Wait he has a wolf sent lingering on him. It was obviously hidden, but still I can sense it hiding behind his cover. I wonder who he could be, and why he is in our territory. Just as I am about to confront him on it, the bell rings. I give him a small warning growl and stalk off, leaving a very surprised werewolf to wonder how I knew his secret.

(Lucas POV)

Alpha's Past Chapter 2

(Alea POV)

Jaaceyyyy! I call my brother through the pack link.
Lee? That you? Do you know what time it is? The pack has been searching for you for hours! He defiantly tells me, trying to put guilt on.
Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, I know. Anyways, I just saw a strange wolf trespassing in our territory. I say casually.
Uh hu–– WHAT!? Where was this? Why would you even think of going out without someone to protect you!? He exclaimes angrily.
Jace! How many times do I have to tell you? I don’t need to have a babysitter! I am the alpha of this pack, and I’m supposed to be protecting you all, not the other way around! I yell, using more than a little bit of my alpha voice.
Sorry, Sorry. I didn’t mean it like that sis. He quickly backs down, immediately seeing his mistake in challenging my dominance.
It’s okay bro. Anyways he was really unique and, if you can believe it, taller than me in wolf form, and he didn’t even seem to know who I was. He obviously didn’t want to harm us or he would have attacked, not run when I growled at him. I clarify about my encounter with him.
Who the heck are you two talking about? My best friend, Layna, asked.
Oh, hi Laynie. We were just talking about the wolf I just chased out of the territory. Some nerve he had to trespassing in our pack! I explain, because apparently she needed to be included and know any possible gossip before anyone else.
Wait a minute, was he hot? She asks. Of course that would be the first question she would ask.
How would I know? He was in wolf form, although, at least in wolf form he was pretty dang h–––– I begin.
Stop right there! I really don’t need to know who my little sister thinks is “hot”.  Jace interrupts, sounding slightly disgusted.
But Jace! I do care! And besides, you can just leave if you don’t want listen. Layna retorts angerly.
Nuh uh. I’m her sister and we were discussing pack business, which is far more important, so you can leave. He answers smugly.
Okay Jace, we’ll stop, and Layna, we’ll talk about it later. I compromise. Always the peacemaker with those two.
Fine. Jace agrees.
Fine, but I am still win. Layna says, and I can just imagine her sticking her tongue out at an imaginary Jace.
Okay, now back to business. What are we going to do about the new wolf? I ask.
Well, do you know if he is a rouge? Layna asks.
I’m pretty sure he’s not, based on his size and he knew not to look directly into my eyes. I inform them.
Okay, well then I guess we should probably just leave it, and see what happens. We really don’t need a war between our pack right now. Jace says wisely.
That’s true. Okay I guess we will just wait this one out. I reluctantly agree. For some inexplicable reason I really want to see this unique wolf again.

–––––––––––––––––

(Luca’s POV)

I am laying in my bed, just starring at the ceiling. As I roll over to look at the clock I groan. 2:47. Not when I should be awake. I mean I tried to fall asleep, I really did, but after four hours of tossing and turning, I gave up. Now I am now laying here, wondering if I will ever sleep again. I search the pack link for someone to talk to, only to find that the entire pack house is sound asleep. Great. Sighing, I decide to get up and check the pack perimeter.
I trot around and see that everything is normal, well other than me. It’s so weird, I’m usually a sound sleeper, but now I just feel cold, and as if something is missing. I keep thinking of that she-wolf. I wonder what her name is. She smelled like she was part of the pack, yet that could only be if she was the alpha’s mate. Which, I am not going to think about because I really, really hope she isn’t. She was so beautiful. Maybe someone from our pack should go to their school and find out more about her. Maybe it should be me, and if I go, I could disguise my scent and pretend to be a normal human student. Yes it should definitely be me. Now I just have to convince the pack.
Everyone! I shout using my alpha voice.
Yes? They say, obviously still half asleep. I guess I should have waited until a later hour.
We will be having a pack meeting. I have an announcement. I tell them.
We’ll be there as soon as possible. My pack responds immediately.
Once we were all gathered in the pack meeting meadow, I walked to the front of the group, and as I did, I heard people murmuring about what they were here for. I stepped up, and cleared my throat. Immediately everyone became silent, and turned towards me, man how I love being alpha.
I called you all here today, because I have a very important announcement. I begin. I have decided to transfer to Oakview High School to keep an eye on the Arainia Pack, they have become very powerful, yet no one knows anything about them. I improvise, deciding not to tell them my real goal of learning more about the She-wolf. I am planning on leaving  Monday, which would be tomorrow.
What!? Exclaimed my Jake, who happens to be my beta.
Yes Jake, I have already made up my mind. I tell him
But Luc, who will look out for the pack? He whines.
I am leaving the pack under your care, while I am gone. I tell a very stunned Jake.
Well, I guess that would be alright, but I still don’t understand what is so important that you would leave your own pack. He says.
Yea, well I just need to do this, okay? I say, slightly exasperated. Without further talk, this meeting is over. I announce to the whole pack. I quickly shift into my wolf, and sprint back home, where I jump into bed and finally am able to fall asleep.

Alpha's Past

“Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!” I screamed, jerking up in bed.
“Alea? Are you okay?!” My anxious pack whisper-shouts, just outside my door.
They knew better than to come in, they also know they better not wake me up. I take my sleep very seriously.
“Yeah, I’m okay... Just a bad dream, I think.” I reply.
“You sure? You were screaming awfully loudly.” Came the skeptical response through the door.
“Yeah, I’m sure. You should all just go back to sleep.” I tell them, using only a little of my alpha power.
I don’t know why they are so protective of me, I mean I didn’t just become alpha because I have the alpha’s eyes. Although that may have been a large part of it.
As soon as I’m sure they are all back asleep, I quietly slip out the back door and shift into my wolf form before I raced into the woods, behind our house, to think over my dream. I haven’t been having those nightmares since I was a little girl, so having one tonight was a big surprise.
In my dream I am young, maybe five or six, and hiding. In my hands I am holding a small dagger, my grip is so tight that my knuckles are white. I am listening to the footfalls coming closer and closer to my hurried hiding spot behind the tree. I know that I can’t trust the pleading voice begging me to come out. Silent tears start to race down my face as the shadow draws closer and closer to me. Suddenly, two big hands reach forward to grab me. I scream and suddenly I’m back in my room. A room that sits in the middle of a house full of werewolves, all willing to give their lives for me, their alpha.
I don’t know why I have this dream considering nothing like this ever happened in my childhood. Well not to my knowledge at least. But I can’t seem to forget the monster, who was looming down to do who knows what to my little self.

(Alea’s POV)

Running usually helps after I have a nightmare. Yet no matter how fast I push myself I can't seem to stop thinking about it, or even make sense of it. Now I am about five miles from the house and I have reached my favorite clearing. There are wildflowers lacing the ground, trees stand tall, as if they are guarding me, all around the edge of the clearing, and in one corner it has a waterfall that gently flows into a pond, just big enough to swim in. The moonlight seems to reflect off the pond and give the entire clearing a silver glow.
I trot over to the pond and while I’m taking a drink of water I hear a twig snap behind me. I whirl around, growling even before my mouth has left the water, to see what had to be the most beautiful wolf I’ve ever seen. He was surprisingly tall, considering I am seven feet three inches, and he had deep black fur, which almost looked blue under the moonlight. He was staring at me with an almost confused expression. I found my thoughts straying to how wonderful my pearly white fur would contrast against his black, before I even remembered that he was an unknown wolf in our territory. I quickly crouched down and bared my teeth at the stranger.
Mate! Mate! I hear my wolf shout in my head, causing me to fumble. Taking advantage of my distraction the other wolf turns quickly and makes a run for it. I soon start up after him, planning to chase him out of my territory, and possibly cause him some pain for trespassing onto my territory. While I chased him though, I found myself unconsciously getting slower and slower because my wolf was still yelling at me and claiming that this strange wolf was my mate. This is confusing though because me being alpha should mean I won’t have a mate, and I will have to pass alpha down to someone else once I am ready. Well I don’t know this for sure, but being the only female alpha in, well forever, I have to learn as I go. The reason I think I can’t have a mate, is that the alpha in me won’t except any other male dominance.
Suddenly I stopped, realizing that I had chased him well beyond the edge of our territory. I snarled once more for good measure before heading home to tell my pack, the Araynia, about this strange wolf, my nightmare completely forgotten.

(Luca’s(Guy) POV)

I always love to run at night, feeling the wind combing through my fur as I trot  under the beautiful moon. Tonight though I had this strong urge to go over near the Araynia pack’s territory, which is strange considering they are known to be the strongest, and most territorial pack in the US. As I run along the border, I let my thoughts wander, thinking of my pack, of my best friend and of his mate, and even of the rival packs. I was just beginning to think about my own life, when I caught a whiff of what had to be most fantastic smell in the world. It almost smelled like sweet apricots, with a tang of sea salt.
Following my instincts I tracked this smell and found myself crossing into Araynian territory, the warning of danger flitted through my mind for only a second, before it was replaced with the need to find out what was causing that smell. I tracked it all through the territory, for it seemed to be running also, before I even making any progress. Finally, I came upon the most beautiful clearing I had ever seen, but I only had a second to admire its beauty before something of much more beauty took its place. There, gently drinking from the pool, stood the most exquisite she-wolf I had ever seen. She had fur so white, it was almost hard to look at in the moonlight. She was tall and elegant, almost as tall as me, which is really quite tall.
Mate! my wolf hollered in my head.
What!? That can’t be! I responded, for she was far to good for me.
I slowly stepped closer, but accidentally stepped on a branch. She swung around and growled ferociously at me, but then she stopped and seemed taken aback before looking confused and distracted. Taking this as my opportunity to escape, I ran, not really wanting to, but knowing that I was still on unfamiliar territory and that it was better not to press my luck.
I suddenly heard her chasing behind in fast pursuit and I tried to kick it up a gear, yet she too got faster. I knew that before long she would reach me, and I would be lucky to leave with my life, considering I was trespassing. Surprisingly though, I suddenly seemed to be gaining more headway and she seemed to be willingly falling behind. I ran all the way out of their territory and on a ways past that before she finally stopped, snarled, and trotted back to her pack.
I continued to run, thinking about how beautiful and unique her eyes had been. One the color of the ocean, and one the color of the trees. It wasn't until I was close enough to my pack to use our link, that I yelled to my best friend,
Jake!
Yeah? What’s up dude? He replied lazily. Typical Jake. Never interested in anything other than himself or his mate.
You’re never going to guess what just happened! I say happily.
What? He responds with slightly more enthusiasm.
Well...
