I. Hate. School. It truly, honest to god, sucks. To put it nicely, school is a waste of my time. The only semi redeeming part is the girls, they see a guy that’s hot, like me, and are willing to murder their best friend. I mean I can’t complain about it, because there is nothing better than a sad girl in need of a shoulder on which to cry. Coz babe, I can be that shoulder, but it’s also amusing to watch how pathetic they are. For example, the other day I was walking down the hall, and some random cheerleader came up to me and started to flirt with me, suddenly, up came the girl that had just been laughing and talking with her, and she started to flirt with me also. Girl number 1, then stomps on Girl number 2’s foot with her high heel, and then promptly shoves her out of the way. I later learned that these girls use to be best friends. This is one reason why Alea calls them “The Slut Heard.”
As I think of this, I can’t help but let out a small laugh, this earns me a glare from our L.A. teacher, Mr. Landim.
“Mr. Ryans, you seem to think something is humorous, care to share with the class?” He asks, smiling, delightedly, in a way that reminds me of a fox that has cornered a rabbit. Everyone in the room turns to me with looks of pity and curiosity.
“Ummmm.” I reply not really wanting to voice my opinion on the female student body.
“Well, what is it Mr. Ryans?” He persists.
“Uh, just that... Uh well—” I start but am interrupted by the bell, signaling the start of lunch, and the brief intermission between the torture they call education at this hell hole of a school.
“Oh I have to go to lunch now Mr. Landim, I’ll have to tell you some other time.” I say, as I make my hasty retreat. Wow, that was a close one. As I make my way into the cafeteria, I head over to my normal table, with the rest of the pack. I wonder where Alea is. Hmmm, probably telling a teacher why they were wrong in whatever they were trying to force, i mean teach, to her. As I scan the cafeteria I can’t help but notice that Layna is looking extra hot today, wait no, I can’t think that. She is Alea’s best friend, and obviously she doesn’t share the feelings.
I see Alea walk in, and all the heads in the room turn towards her, before they resume their earlier conversations. You see, Alea isn’t like most alpha’s, she has amazing powers that have never even been heard of before. She can control elements, read all other weres minds, talk to all weres in their minds, and that's only the beginning. Even more, her entire body radiates power, it’s really amazing.
She casually walks over to us and sits in her normal seat, the one in the very center of the room, and begins to eat others lunch. Suddenly she sits up straight and scoots her chair closer to mine and looked up at an approaching human. Which was weird, considering all the humans know enough to stay away form our table. I look up and say
“What do you want?” Already smirking knowing that Alea will chew him out, and then humiliate him. I imagine that it will go something like her showing dominance telling him to get lost, then as he walks away the water fountain will “malfunction” and spay all over him. I mean who does he think he is?
“Umm, well I was wondering if you guys had room for one more?” He replies timidly. Good, he should be afraid of us. I see him look over at Alea and— wait is he checking her out? He better not be, everyone knows she is off limits. I see all of us look over to her, waiting for some snide remark about his lack of brain cells, but instead she just looks at me and says in the pack link
‘Can you take care of this? I am really tired today.’ In almost a pouting voice.
‘Ahh, come on Lee, I was really looking forward to seeing your treatment of this guy. I was going to be the best part of my day.’ I say hopefully.
‘No Jace! That’s horrible. How could you be so inconsiderate.’ She scolds, even though her the tips of her lips are twitching up, telling me shes joking.
‘Okay, fine. I’ll get rid of him for you.’ I say sighing in defeat. It sometimes sucks to have a more powerful older sister, even though I love her.
‘Thanks Jacey!’ She says in a singsong voice, showing how happy she is to have gotten her way, again.
“Hey kid. The answer is no. Now get lost.” I said, making it as brief as possible.
“Oh, okay.” He says ashamedly, before quickly walking to sit elsewhere. Huh, I wonder why Alea really didn’t want to deal with him. Oh well, I’ll find out tonight.
